Shah Alam is Selangor’s capital city with a strong Malay population, which is why most of the road signs have Muslim ‘Jawi’ characters below them. The city is mostly a residential area with little or no entertainment outlets, as even cinemas are banned and is about 20 kilometers west of Kuala Lumpur and a part of the urban sprawl of Klang Valley. The most prominent landmark in Shah Alam includes the Blue Mosque; which is one of the largest mosque in Southeast Asia, Shah Alam Lake Gardens, Agricultural Park, and Sultan of Selangor’s Palace.
